Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), also known as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), is a security mechanism that requires users to provide two or more authentication factors before gaining access to a system or application.
多重身份驗證 (MFA) 也稱為雙因素身份驗證 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication)，是一種要求用戶在登錄系統或應用程序之前提供兩個或多個身份驗證因素的 安全機制。
It is a robust security measure that enhances the protection of sensitive student data and user
accounts within Paradigm as it significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access.
這是一項強大的安全措施，可以顯著降低未經授權登錄的風險，從而增強對 Paradigm 內的學生敏感數據和用戶帳戶的保護。
Authentication Method
身份驗證方法
The primary authentication requires users to provide their username and password.
主要的身份驗證需要用戶提供用戶名（username）和密碼 （password）。
- For students, the username is their ACT Student Number.

After successful primary authentication, users are prompted to provide an additional authentication
factor as secondary authentication in form of a Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) via an app on
your phone.
成功進行主要的身份驗證後，系統會提示用戶通過手機上的應用程序以基於時間的一次性密碼 TOTP （Time-based One-Time Password）的形式提供額外的身份驗證因素作為輔助身份驗證。
The recommended TOTP app is the Google Authenticator.

The first time you sign into Paradigm, you will be presented with the setup screen:

To set it up, open the Google Authenticator App on your phone.
請打開手機上的 Google Authenticator 應用程序以進行設置。
1. Click on the plus icon
點擊‘加號圖標’。
2. Select scan a QR code, or enter a setup key - scan the QR code on Paradigm, or enter the displayed key.
選擇‘掃描二維碼’（scan a QR code），或輸入顯示的鍵。
3. Your Paradigm account will be added to the Authenticator app and a six digit code will be displayed. Type the six digit code into the verification code field on Paradigm and click "verify"
您的 Paradigm 帳戶將被添加到 Authenticator 應用程序中，並將顯示一個六位數的代碼。在 Paradigm 上的驗證碼 字段中輸入六位代碼，然後點擊 ‘驗證’(Verify)。
The next time you sign in to Paradigm, you will be asked to provide a verification code. Open the Google Authenticator app and enter the TOTP in the Verification Code field on Paradigm and click "verify".

If you have multiple accounts on your Google Authenticator, ensure that you are using the verification code for act.edu.net.au.
